The Tree Benefits Calculator is a promotional tool based on information from the “Tree Guidelines for San Joaquin Valley Communities” by McPherson, Simpson, Peper, and Xiao, U.S. Forest Service, Center for Urban Forest Research, March 1999. The calculator assumes an average mix of small, medium, and large trees in the Sacramento region, as well as an average mix of public and private trees.
